4321-MARKET: On

Established in 2020, 4321-MARKET celebrates its sixth year as a unique platform dedicated to design and craftsmanship. Inspired by the annual Christmas markets held at European art universities, the event traces its roots to the traditions of ECAL (École cantonale d’art de Lausanne) alumni. Bringing the warmth and creative spirit of these gatherings to Seoul, the market offers an engaging space where designers and audiences can meet, exchange, and discover.

What distinguishes 4321-MARKET is its dedication to originality and craftsmanship. Each product is thoughtfully designed and produced in limited quantities, offering a refined balance of function and form. Unlike mass-produced or readily available items, these exclusive creations are made with intention, purpose, and a distinctive perspective. The market is a rare opportunity for visitors to connect directly with designers and acquire one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect an artistry not found elsewhere, all at accessible price points. Every year, the market adopts a new theme to drive creative exploration.

For 2025, under the theme “FOUND CHARM”, 19 teams (23 emerging designers) created unique objects using leftover materials provided by the Swiss sportswear brand On, including unused textiles, LightSpray™ residue, and ground TPU midsoles. By reworking and reshaping these materials, the designers gave them new life and transformed what was once discarded into small key charms, storage pieces, lamp shades, hand fans, fly swatters, and more.

4321-MARKET: FOUND CHARM will be hosted at the Swiss Embassy in Korea, and all proceeds was donated to a local charity, Good Neighbors.
